Love my Bike
Is riding your bicycle a good experience? Yes, we know that the weather is not always helpful, and those hills can be annoying. But what about your bike? Are the brakes rubbing squeaking? Do the gears change nicely? Are there rattles, shakes, or rumbles? Is fixing that flat just too hard? We want you to have a great time whenever you jump on your bike. Bring it along to the Love my bike safety check for a once-over that can probably solve problems like the ones mentioned, or we will let you know what to ask the mechanics at your local bike shop, or the Bike Hub Mount Roskill Bike to help you with.
We run free Love my bike safety checks at a wide range of events, council facilities, sports clubs, and schools. So look out for us and don’t hesitate to ask our friendly mechanics if they can help you.
Try an e-Bike
Do you wonder what all the fuss is about electric bikes? Come along to one of our Try and e-Bike sessions and you can experience for yourself a range of different types of e-bikes.
We have two different types of e-Cargo Bicycles along and a bicycle trailer for you to try out. One is a Box Bike, which has a ‘box’ for carrying goods between the rider and the front wheel, and the other is a Long Tail Bike which has a long carrier behind the riders that can carry items. e-Cargo Bikes are becoming popular for small deliveries for a range of up to 10-15kms. They can sneak through traffic, park anywhere, have zero emissions and provide staff with healthy exercise depending on the power level they choose. We will also have a bicycle trailer that can carry goods behind a regular bicycle or e-Bike.
Mini Bike Hubs
Our Mini Bike Hubs are community-led Bike Hubs based in local schools in Puketāpapa Mt Roskill. These Bike Hubs are equipped with a basic set of tools and spare parts so that the volunteers that we train can service bicycles belonging to students, care-givers and staff.
Mini Bike Hubs are resulting in kids riding much safer bikes to and from school. They are also encouraging other non-cycling kids to bring their bikes in so they can ride to and from school.
